Fitness
The most commonly fitness centre among Au pairs is Basic-Fit and they have locations throughout Netherlands. Subscription cost 20-30 Euros a month. Sportcity (previously named Fit for free) is also a good option and cost 35 euros a month. The cheaper subscription is for 1 year and you pay per month. Most fitness centeres provide one free trial day and you can use it to see if it suits you.
Movies
Pathe is the most popular movie place in Netherlands. They have Cinemas in most Dutch cities. Normally a ticket cost 12 euros. If you buy a subscription for 23 euros you could watch unlimited number of movies for a month.
Languages
Most Au pairs go for Dutch language lessons. Few Au pairs go for English lessons. Taalthuis is a good Dutch language school and they have classes in Amersfoort, Amsterdam, Den Bosch, Den Haag, Haarlem, Hilversum, Leiden and Utrecht. They also have special language course for Au pairs at a lower price. In Hague Kickstartschool and TaalTaal are good schools for Dutch and English.

Picnic
The most famous picnicking park in the country is Amsterdam’s Vondelpark. Located in the very heart of the Dutch capital. Another big park that lies just outside Amsterdam city center is the Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam Forest)
In Rotterdam best place to picnic is Euromastpark, where you can go for a nice stroll along the Meuse river.
In the Hague Westduinpark is the most popular park. Haagse bos or Hague forest near the Hague central station is a calm park even though its in city centre.
In Utrecht, Wilhelminapark is the largest park and the most frequently visited place. Also very popular, especially among children, are Julianapark and Oog in Al park. Both of these parks feature a large playground and animal enclosure.

Kings Day
It is a national level event. Its celebrated on 27 April and it marks the birth of King Willem-Alexander. It is renowned for being one of the biggest and most colorful festivities in the Netherlands, especially so in Amsterdam. There is lot of street parties. Many people rent the boats and party in canals. The evening before Kings day is named Kings Night. There is special parties for Kings night in the clubs.
Amsterdam Dance Event
For over 25 years, Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is the leading electronic music festival in the world. ADE takes place for five days every October bringing over 2,500 of the world's biggest dance artists to play in 140 of Amsterdam's best clubs.
Awakenings
An institution in the Netherlands, Awakenings are behind some of the country’s most legendary techno events. Alongside a summer appearance in Spaarnwoude, Awakenings traditionally comes to the Gashouder at Westergas every October for a five-night event as part of the Amsterdam Dance Event.
